MARNIE, BANDIT AND PRESTON: A Society Fur Family
Marnie, Bandit and PrestonMany of our adopting families find room in their hearts, homes, and lives for more than one of our four-legged "kids".

Marnie, Bandit and Preston were adopted over a period of five years.  Marnie, the larger of the two black dogs, was first.  Bandit, a beagle mix, came next.  And, last but not least, Preston.  He's the smallest and the newest addition to the family pack.  Each has a story to tell.

The Warren County Humane Society staff helps families with recommendations on selecting a compatible new dog, and assistance with introducing the new addition to the family pack.

If you are considering adding a "fur-ever" friend to your family, please come see us.  Make adoption your option!

BANDIT: Number 2 Tells His Story
The day I met my new mom and dad I had been having another great day singing with my brother and kennel mates.  Singing is my personal favorite since my mom was a beautiful beagle.

BanditI sat in Karen's office beside her and sized up these new people.  They smelled like other dogs.  They just sat and looked at me.  I was trying to be patient,  I had things to do.

Karen left the room and I taught them how to play fetch!! Not too long after that I was taken to the new peoples home.

They met my requirements! I had lots of attention, walks, a fence, anywhere was my place to sleep. There was good chow, a new brother and sister and most importantly toys AND a cookie jar!  Did I mention the COOKIE JAR???

After teaching them all the basics of bathing, brushing and crate training I decided to keep these people.  They were very excited and so was I!  I will have lived with my mom and dad for three years June 16th of this year.

My mom and dad said to tell the folks out there to make adoption their option!!  They will be glad they did.  Have a barking good day!

PRESTON: Little Guys Rule!
PrestonMom writes, "It's  hard to believe the things people do to living things.  As far as we know Preston was thrown from a moving vehicle in the coldest December in years."

"Far out Yankee Bush road was where the Warren County Humane Society was called to try to catch something living in a shed."

"Trapping did not work.  Calling with food didn't work.  Finally armed with a catch pole Karen caught Preston who proceeded to roll like a crocodile."

"Preston was scared of everyone.  It took a lot of work from the staff to gain the trust of this little dog."

"Today Preston lives with us and his dog family.  He thinks he is a Doberman and bosses the rest of the dogs.  He loves our grandkids when they  come and sleeps under our blankets at night."

"Thank you for this wonderful little dog!"

MARNIE: Our First Society Dog
Marnie's mom writes, "My husband and I have always had a dog in Marnieour family. After our last Old English (we had them for 20 years) we got a Shar Pei and then our son gave us his beagle mix puppy.  We had this pair for 10 years.  We lost them both the same year and were heartbroken."

"We had never gone to a shelter before but one day, while our grandson was visiting, we decided to go and "just look". "

"While walking down the row of dogs I looked down and one was loose.  I picked her up and told my husband that this dog was just the right size."

"After speaking with the friendly staff we filled out the paper work and Marnie was to do a home trial period to see if she was was right for us and vice versa. "

"October the 28th of this year we will have had Marnie for five years!  She is the right fit in every way."

"Thank you to all the staff at WCHS for this little gem."
